Link Party Tuesday!!

Go over and get inspired at http://todayscreativeblog.net/ where I joined their link party for Tuesday!! I submitted the custom coasters. Lots of fabulous ideas!

Cheap but Cute Coasters

These wonderful coasters were made by my bestie Heather (who you will meet soon). I found the coasters on clearance at Old Navy for .97 and she used scrapbook letters for the wording then applied a coat of decoupage finish. .97 cents and a few minutes later you have one of a kind, custom personalized coasters!!

My Kitchen Nook turned open shelving

This is a nook in my kitchen that I added extra open shelving and much needed storage.
The shelves I had already and I bought a set of white iron scroll brackets at Lowe's for $12. I used an old Coke bottle holder and placed little glass cups in them to hold my silverware. What do ya think?

New and Improved Laundry Room

This is the weathered wood medium I used. I think I got it from Hobby Lobby
First Paint the door a background color. I chose a pale green. Then apply weathered wood medium and let dry. Try to apply in a even thin coat. When dry it should look shiny.
Its hard to tell in this picture the weathered detail. After medium dries then apply top coat and only do one stroke applications do not over stroke. Afterwards I traced out my wash letters with pencil and painted them shiny white and attached the painted hardware.
The green bucket is my trash can for the dryer lint ($2) , the sign was a Hobby Lobby find Grant bought for me, and the basket was .25 at yard sale that holds mismatched socks.

Basket that holds my supplies ($1 Dollar General) and the wood sign I made with supplies on hand.

I was tired of having to do laundry in my drab laundry room. I really hate that I didn't take before photos but I really didn't even want to have evidence of that disaster! For the whole entire update I spent the following:
 1. Paint- On hand
2.Wood Distress er- On hand
3. Wash Stencil- Made from Card stock
4. Hardware- Spray painted with on hand spray paint
5. Wooden Shelf- Scrap wood on hand
6. Accessories- $2 Trash Can
$1 Brown Basket with liner (Dollar General) Wooden Basket (.25 Yard Sale)
.25 Drying rack then spay painted it
Washboard- $1
Wooden Sign- Made with things on hand
7. Shelf Brackets- .50 (Salvation Army) Then spray painted white with paint on hand.
So total I spent under $5 for this redo. My next project in here is a new liner for the clothes hamper. So what do you think? Anybody else have any good Laundry room pics?

Dollar Tree Flower Lei turned into Swim Cap!!

This is when it wouldn't fit her good but was too cute not to try on!lol
Sweet Stella in her Swim Cap!
Heather used a Hawaiian Lei from the Dollar Tree and a cloth baby bonnet to make this lovely swim cap.
1.) First remove the flowers from the lei by cutting the thread holding it all together. Separate the stamens and discard if any and lay the flower aside.
2.) Using the hot glue gun apply a small drop to the cap then press 1 flower to apply to cap.
3.) Continue #2 until entire cap is covered!

This is super easy and too cute. If any one has made anything like a swim cap please leave a comment below and picture of your creation!

Since her name is Stella of course the inspiration beer was Stella Artois so I redesigned the labeled for Stella Holt!
We used the trust glue gun and used "glue balls" to hang the baby clothes line. And most of the onesies were hand made by Heather!
I used one of the invite on the beer bucket. Beer bottles double as vases which were scattered all around the pool patio.

A sweet display of precious family with the new baby and baby pictures of Mommy and Daddy.
The beer mug cake!! (sorry for the plastic wrap but we had to protect it :)
We used beer bottle caps for filler in the candle holders. NOTE: If the party is in the summer don't leave the candles in them before hand. I know from this experience we had a big waxy mess so we left them out until night when the party was.
Paper pennant to add flair outside!! Super easy!
Heather holding sweet Stella and me at the end of a very successful diaper shower!!
My best friend and crafter inspiration Heather recently had a baby! A sweet baby girl Stella Riley Holt! Her mother, sister and I hosted a Beer and Diaper shower for the father Shane. Often times guys get left out in all the baby showering fun and this was a fabulous way to shower the dad and score some much needed diapers. I used common things and really didn't buy anything but clothes pins and flowers! I also made magnets with a picture of Stella on it tucked into paper diapers that say Thank You. For some reason I can't find a picture of it so I will have to post that later. Hope this gave you some ideas for your next shower.

PS: Sorry for the multliple pictures Im still figuring this thing out so bear with me!
